Former Liverpool left-back Stephen Warnock has advised the Reds to make a move for Crystal Palace midfielder Adam Wharton. After failing to sign Real Sociedad midfielder Martin Zubimendi .
Warnock said: “I think they will sign new players, I really do. I think there will be two or three players coming into the club in the final stretch. We all know they tried to sign Zubimendi. And there was a lot of talk about that but in the end it didn’t happen.
“My comments may upset some Crystal Palace fans. I would suggest that if I were Liverpool, I would consider signing Adam Wharton as a number six. Because the way you play, everything has to go through a holding midfielder. That’s how Arne Slot wants to play.”
“Wharton is the unsung hero of Palace. He has only just moved here but has already elevated the team to the point where he has already been selected for the England national team.”
“I know Ryan Gravenberch played well in the second half (against Ipswich) but in the first half he struggled a lot in that position until the Ipswich players got tired and lost their rhythm and he started to get spaces. ยูฟ่าเบท And the problem with Gravenberch is his form last season was up and down, he was inconsistent.”
“You can trust him, but then you look at the options and you think, ‘Should we replace him with someone else? Someone who can play in that position naturally, and for me, Wharton is the man.’
